On February 3-5, 2020, a meeting inaugurating the new project financed by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) was held at the Lublin University of Technology (LUT). The meeting was attended by the authorities of LUT (Rector Prof. Piotr Kacejko), authorities of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (Prof. Henryka Stryczewska, Dr. Marek Miłosz), head (Prof. Dariusz Czerwiński) and employees of the Department of Computer Science LUT and coordinators from 4 partner universities of Uzbekistan : Prof. Dilbar Mukhamedova from the National University of Uzbekistan from Tashkent, Mr Rahim Kayumov from Samarkand State University, Prof. Bakhodir Eshchanov from the Chirchik State Pedagogical Institute and Prof. Utkir Abdullaev from Urgench State University.
At the meeting, the main tasks of the project were presented and agreed, current activities of PL in the field of digitizing the cultural heritage of the Silk Road were discussed, perspectives of places and objects of digitization were outlined in subsequent expeditions as well as areas of scientific cooperation and practical tasks of the Lublin University of Technology and partner universities from Uzbekistan.
