On the August 26th, 2019 roku in Samarkand (Uzbekistan) in the Palace of Forums there was held the International Conference „Preservation of Tangible and Intangible Cultural Heritage: Challenges and Strategies”. The conference was one of the events in the Cultural Heritage Week (22-27 August 2019). The conference was organized by UNESCO under patronage of the Government of Uzbekistan.
Three sections were held at the conference:
- Cultural heritage and urban planning.
- Legal and regulatory mechanism in the World Heritage conservation.
- Safeguarding intangible cultural heritage in education with ICT’s.
Dr. Marek Milosz from Institute of Computer Science took part in conference due to invitation of Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He has presented results of Polish-Uzbek cooperation in cultural heritage preservation and popularization using 3D and Internet digital technologies.
Conference participants took part in the official opening ceremony of the XII International Music Festival “Sharq Taronalari”, which took place at Registan in Samarkand Square.
