Training for partners from Uzbekistan “Methods of ensuring the sustainability of the results of the 3D Digital Silk Road project after its completion”
On 19-24.09.2022 at the Lublin University of Technology, another training for partners from Uzbekistan took place – the last task carried out as part of the “3D Digital Silk Road” project, financed by NAWA. Four coordinators from Uzbekistan partner universities: National University of Uzbekistan, Samarkand State University, Chirchik State Pedagogical University and Urgench State University participated in “Methods for ensuring the sustainability of the results of the 3D Digital Silk Road project after its completion” training.
The training took place in two locations: in Gdańsk and Lublin.
In Gdańsk, the coordinators got acquainted with the monuments of the city – one of the beginnings of the Amber Road, which was connected with the Silk Road in Italy. The activities of astronomers – successors to Ulug Bek (ie Copernicus and Hevelius), as well as the creator of the temperature measurement scale (ie Fahrenheit), commonly used in Anglo-Saxon countries, including the USA, were also learned.
In Lublin, as part of the training, the results of the project were summarized, potential opportunities for financing further cooperation were presented (here: thanks to the head of the International Education Office of the Lublin University of Technology), methods and tools for further cooperation in the field of digitization of monuments in Uzbekistan and scientific cooperation between universities after the end of the project were developed.
The training was completed with practical workshops: “3D scanning and data processing using RangeVision Neo scanner, photo camera and VR 360o camera” and an overview and supplementation of the content of the silkroad3d.com portal.
